Tineco iFloor Features and Specifications
Tineco iFloor is a cordless wet/dry vacuum, powered with the onboard 22.2V 2500 mAh lithium-ion battery. The battery is built-in and it can't be replaced by the user, nor does the Tineco iFloor support the use of multiple batteries.
Operating time of the fully charged battery is around 20-22 minutes, providing the user with plenty of time to cover and clean large bare floor areas.
Tineco iFloor is intended for wet/dry cleaning of sealed floors, including glazed tiles, marble, sealed laminate, sealed hardwood, linoleum, vinyl, and similar floors.
Although Tineco iFloor can be used on the carpets, too, it is not designed for such use - its spinning brushroll is optimized for bare floors and its suction is not strong enough in order to pull out deeply embedded dust, pet hair, and similar dirt.
For short, Tineco iFloor is a bare floor cleaner/washer that can be used for refreshing the surfaces of carpets and area rugs, if a proper cleaning solution is used.
When the unit arrives, it must be assembled, but it can be done quickly. Also, before the very first use be sure to charge the battery and to read the manual thoroughly, in order to get accustomed to your new device. Tineco iFloor is simple to use and maintain the unit, but it has a few very interesting features that can really help for both cleaning and unit maintenance.
The unit should be charged only with the battery charger intended for this battery. Charging time depends on the battery condition, but in order to fully charge the discharged battery, it takes around 3-4 hours.
Battery charger is intelligent and when the battery is fully charged, the charging process stops, preventing the overcharging and overheating of the battery. Also, signal LEDs inform the user about the battery charge and the charging process.
Tineco iFloor controls are on the handle, allowing the user to control and use the unit with a single hand. Controls include:
- On/Off switch which is used for turning the unit on and off,
- Spot Mode switch is used for starting the Spot mode which is used for cleaning extra dirty areas, sticky messes, and similar. In the Spot mode, the brushroll spins some 50% faster and the cleaning solution is dispensed at much faster rate (220 ml/min vs 40 ml/min),
- Solution trigger is used for releasing the cleaning solution for more thorough cleaning. Since the user controls the amount of released the cleaning solution, floors are dried faster and the cleaning solution itself lasts longer. Also, by letting the user control the cleaning solution flow, Tineco iFloor can be used as a dry vacuum only. As dry vacuum, it performs well on the bare floors, but for carpets and area rugs, dedicated carpet vacuum cleaner/washer is much better solution.
Tineco iFloor features two separate tanks:
- Clean Water Tank (CWT) features a capacity of ~18 ounces (530 ml). Clean water tank is filled with warm (140°F/60°C MAX) tap water and if required, the user can add Tineco iWash cleaning formula in order to clean the floors more thoroughly. Since the availability of Tineco iWash tends to be 'problematic', users add other cleaning formulas (from Hoover, Bissel, etc.) and achieve excellent results.
Note: Tineco iFloor achieves better cleaning results using warm (warm, not hot water!), but it doesn't feature a water heater.
- Dirty Water Tank (DWT) feature a capacity of ~13.5 ounces (400 ml) and is used for storing picked-up dirty liquids. Tineco iFloor can be used as a wet/dry vacuum, but also for picking up spills off the floors, just be sure not to pick up liquids that can harm the unit.
Dirty Water Tank (DWT) also features a safety float and filter. When the tank is full, the safety float closes protecting the rest of the unit from liquids - the user can easily notice this my changed motor pitch. Also, both tanks are translucent, allowing the user to see the amount of liquids in both tanks.
Note: in order to prevent any damages by liquids, don't recline the unit by more than 54°from vertical, or less than 36° from the floor - Tineco is very accurate with these degrees, but generally, keep the unit between vertical position (90°) and 45° and the unit will be just fine.
The main cleaner head features a swivel neck, spinning brushroll, transparent brush cover, transport wheels, etc. and it is an actual cleaning tool that does the cleaning.
Swivel neck allows the unit to be rather maneuverable and to be able to reach and clean even under certain objects, thanks to the cleaner head low profile.
Spinning brushroll features soft bristles, optimized for bare floors. As the cleaning solution is sprayed over the cleaned surface, brushroll bristles in combination with the relatively strong suction thoroughly clean even very sticky messes and pick up various dirt.
Note: for normal, everyday cleaning, Tineco recommends using plain water without the cleaning formula. Personally, add at least a little bit of cleaning formula to help remove invisible greasy dirt off your floors.
The transparent brush cover is easily removable, helping the user reach and remove the brushroll for maintenance (cleaning).
Brushroll can be cleaned using storage and cleaning tray or manually.
To clean the brushroll automatically, place the unit in the storage/cleaning tray, fill the clean water tank (at least one-third), and press and hold the switch button for 3 seconds. This activates 'self-cleaning mode' that lasts ~40 seconds, after which the unit automatically turns itself off.
However, really stubborn dirt can be removed only manually - remove the brushroll and the brushroll cover from the unit and clean them manually. After cleaning, be sure to let them dry in the storage tray.
Note: This and other maintenance procedures are explained in greater detail in the manual.
Tineco iFloor comes with a 2-year limited warranty.
