Tineco A11 Hero and Tineco A11 Master are two very similar cordless, bagless, 2-in-1 convertible vacuum cleaners. They are designed to be used as lightweight stick vacuums and as strong handheld units.

Main differences between Tineco A11 Hero and Tineco A11 Master are obviously, in color, but also in the list of available cleaning tools and attachments.

Tineco A11 Hero/Master Features and Specifications

Tineco A11 Hero/Master are powered with 450 watts motors, providing 120 Air Watts of suction, which is excellent suction for cordless units - comparable with the suction of similar corded vacuums.

Units feature controls on the handle and on the body of the vacuum cleaner, easily accessible by the user.

Tineco A11 Hero/Master support two suction modes: Normal and Max suction mode.

Using one battery, in Normal suction mode, Tineco A11 Hero/Master can operate up to 30 minutes in handheld mode, using non-motorized cleaning tool.

Also, using one battery, in Max suction mode, Tineco A11 Hero/Master can operate up to 7.5 minutes in handheld mode, using non-motorized cleaning tool.

tineco a11 master batteryIn order to provide longer operating time, Tineco A11 Hero/Master vacuums feature 2 easily replaceable batteries, keeping the weight low and allowing one battery to be charged, while other one is in the vacuum.

Tineco A11 vacuums are powered using fade-free power lithium ion, 6-cells, 21.6 volts batteries. Batteries are charged at Dual Charging Powerhouse (Charging/Docking Station) while being either attached to or detached from the unit.

Batteries feature signal lights, indicating current battery/unit condition.

During operation:

- three solid blue lights: battery is fully charged,

- two solid blue lights: medium battery charge level,

- one solid blue light: low battery charge level, consider charging the unit/battery,

- one blinking red light: battery discharged, or appliance blocked, or the battery is overheated,

- one blinking pink light: dirty filters or air clog/blockage in the system.

During charging:

- three blue lights blinking successively: battery is being charged,

- lights are off: battery fully charged and it can remain in the Dual Charging Powerhouse,

- one blinking red: battery fault.

Note: although Tineco A11 Hero/Master are rather easy to use and maintain vacuums, before the very first use, read the manual thoroughly, and charge the batteries. Also, batteries should be charged only using battery charger intended for these batteries.

Dirt bin capacity is 0.6 liters, which is more than enough for daily cleaning. Also, dirt bin is transparent, allowing the user to see amount of dirt - dirt bin should not be filled above the Max fill line.

Dirt bin features bottom emptying system, allowing the user to empty it directly into the trash can.

Tineco A11 Hero/Master handheld unit weighs 3.26 lbs (~1.48 kg) and can be used with just one hand, although this also depends on the used cleaning attachment.

Tineco A11 Hero/Master Air Filtration

tineco a10 hero filtersTineco A11 Hero/Master air filtration is based on cyclonic action and three mechanical air filters.

Mesh air filter protects the 'pre-filter' from larger and sharper vacuumed debris. Both mesh air filter and dirt cup are washable under running cold water - after washing air dry them thoroughly before assembling them back.

Pre-motor air filter (aka 'pre-filter'), protects the motor from dust and other fine particles.

Pre-motor air filter is cleanable using Tineco Pre-Filter Cleaning Tool, according to the exact procedure given in the manual. It can be washed too, but this is so much faster and more convenient.

Post-motor air filter is filter for very fine particles. It is labeled as HEPA air filter, but Tineco doesn't state the HEPA level. Personally, if the level is pleated and made from 'HEPA' media, it is not enough to be labeled 'HEPA' air filter.

Nonetheless, air filtration is good, which is very important for all, not just for pet owners, allergy suffers and people having other health issues.

Post-motor air filter is also washable under cold, running water and it must be fully air dried before reassembling back into the unit.

Note: Never operate these units with wet filters or no filters at all.

After some time, these filters should be replaced with the new ones that can be ordered online.

What's In The Box?

One of the differences between Tineco A11 Hero and Tineco A11 Master models is in the list of available cleaning tools and accessories.

tineco a11 master in the box

Both Tineco A11 Hero and Tineco A11 Master come with: Dual Charging Powerhouse, Motorized Multifloor Cleaner Head, Mini Power Brush, Crevice Tool, 2-in-1 Dusting Brush, Hair Cleaning Tool, Pre-Filter Cleaning Tool, Spare Pre-Filter, and two lithium batteries.

Additionally, Tineco A11 Master also comes with: Motorized Bare Floor Cleaner Head, Soft Dusting Brush, Flexible Extension Hose, Flexible Multi-Angle Wand and Long Flexible Crevice Tool.

Obviously, Tineco A11 Master costs more, but it also features practically all the cleaning tools and attachments that Tineco manufactures for their line of cordless convertible vacuums.

Note: if you decide to buy Tineco A11 Hero and one day you realize that you do need additional cleaning tools, note that Tineco also sells these additional tools in the form of Accessory Kit that can be purchased if/when required.

a10 a11 accessory kit

Tineco Accessory Kit features Soft Dusting Brush, Flexible Extension Hose, Flexible Multi-Angle Wand, Long Flexible Crevice Tool and nylon bag for storing these tools, but it doesn't feature Motorized Bare Floor Cleaner Head.

And yes, if required, Motorized Bare Floor Cleaner Head can be ordered separately.

Note: although Motorized Bare Floor Cleaner Head and Accessory Kit can be ordered later, don't forget that total price of Tineco A11 Hero + Motorized Bare Floor Cleaner Head + Accessory Kit is more than the price of Tineco A11 Master.

Motorized Multifloor Cleaner Head and Motorized Bare Floor Cleaner Head

Motorized Multifloor Cleaner Head comes with both Tineco A11 Hero and Tineco A11 Master, while Motorized Bare Floor Cleaner Head comes only with Tineco A11 Master.

tineco a11 master cleaner heads

Motorized Multifloor Cleaner Head features motorized brushroll that ensures vacuuming of deeply embedded dirt and pet hair from carpets and rugs and can be used for bare floors, too. However, if you do have sensitive bare floors, test this cleaner head on the small, hidden area, just in case.

Motorized Bare Floor Cleaner Head features soft roller, optimized for vacuuming bare floors, sensitive wooden and laminate floors included.

Both the brushroll and soft roller are not maintenance free tools and they must be periodically cleaned by the user.

Also, both cleaner head feature strong LED headlights, helping the users spot the dirt and for vacuuming in low light conditions.

Thanks to their low profiles, both cleaner heads easily glide under most sofas and beds, cleaning hard to reach areas.

Tineco A11 Hero/Master Safety Features

In order to protect the vacuum cleaner and the batteries and help the user troubleshoot the issues, Tineco A11 Hero/Master come with several safety features:

- motor features thermal protection which shuts off the motor if it starts to overheat. If that happens, turn of the unit, disconnect the battery, empty the dirt cup and remove any clog in the system and if required clean/replace the air filters. Let the unit cool down for 45-60 minutes and then use it normally.

- suction sensor: if there is an issue with the dirty filters or if there is a clog/blockage of air pathways, Tineco A11 Hero/Master battery starts to blink PINK. If that happens, turn off the unit and clean/replace the air filters, empty the dirt cup, remove any blockage and continue with vacuuming.

- if the charged battery blinks red during operation check the battery temperature or if there is a block in the system.

- if the battery blinks red during charging, it is either not connected properly or still to warm after use.

Note: all these and other procedures are listed in the manual - read and memorize it thoroughly. And that doesn't apply to just these vacuums, but all vacuums in general.

Tineco A10 vs A11 Cordless Vacuums

Tineco A10 and Tineco A11 cordless vacuums share the same design philosophy and are very similar in appearance to other convertible cordless, bagless stick/handheld vacuums.

Main differences between these two models are:

- rated power: A10 350 watts and A11 450 watts, leading to suction power difference - A10 features 110 Air Watts, while A11 features 120 Air Watts,

- battery capacity: A10 comes with 2 Ah battery/batteries and A11 comes with 2.5 Ah batteries,

- operating time on the single battery (without motorized tools): A10 in Normal suction mode operates up to 25 minutes per battery and in Max suction mode up to 7 minutes. A11 in Normal suction mode features up to 30 minutes of operation and in Max suction mode up to 7.5 minutes.

- A11 features battery charger that explicitly allows the battery to remain in the charger after the battery is fully charged. A10 doesn't come with such statement from the Tineco!

- A11 also features larger dirt bin (0.6 vs 0.4 liters) than A10.

- available cleaning tools depend on the models, but Tineco A11 Master features the longest list of available cleaning tools, among all models. Also it is the most expensive one.

Before deciding which Tineco cordless to choose, check the table and their features and cleaning tools. Also, note that the list of available tools (and other features) may change over time.

Tineco A11 Master Cordless Vacuum vs. Dyson Cordless Vacuums

Dyson cordless vacuums are known as one of the best and strongest cordless vacuums on the market, and Tineco's vacuums are often compared with them in order to determine how good (or bad) they are.

(Note: Just like robot vacuums are compared with iRobot Roomba models, cordless vacuums are often compared with Dyson cordless vacuum.)

The following table lists features of Dyson V6, V7, V8 and V10 models and compares them with the Tineco A11 Master cordless vacuum:

As one can see, Tineco A11 Master is very similar in performances to Dyson V8 Absolute, with Dyson Cyclone V10 Absolute being in its own class.

Tineco A11 Master vs Dyson V8 Absolute - Quick Comparison

dyson v8 absoluteThese two models are very similar in terms of design and intended use: they are both convertible, lightweight, cordless, bagless stick/handheld vacuum cleaners.

Also:

- Tineco A11 features slightly stronger suction (120 vs 115 Air Watts),

- Tineco A11 features also slightly larger dirt bin (0.6 vs 0.5 liters),

- Dyson V8 features longer operating time on the single battery in Normal mode (40 vs 30 minutes); note that Dyson V8 doesn't come with an extra battery,

- Tineco A11 features slightly longer operating time on the single battery in Max mode (7.5 vs 7 minutes),

- Tineco A11 also features shorter battery charging time (3.5 vs 5 hours).

Having said all that, note that Tineco A11 comes with 'HEPA' post-motor filter. But having a 'pleated' filter doesn't mean that the air filtration is true HEPA (capturing at least 99.97% of 0.3 microns or larger particles). On the other hand, Dyson V8 Absolute is a true HEPA vacuum cleaner!

One of the bigger differences is the list of available cleaning tools.

Tineco A11 Master comes with Multifloor Motorized Brushroll, Mini Power Brush, Crevice Tool, 2-in-1 Dusting Brush, Hair Cleaning Tool, Bare Floor Soft Roller Brush, Filter Cleaning Tool, Spare Pre-Filter, Soft Dusting Brush, Flexible Extension Hose, Flexible Multi-Angle Wand, Long Flexible Crevice Tool.

dyson v8 absolute fluffy

Dyson V8 Absolute comes with Mattress Tool, Quick Release Extension Hose, Stubborn Dirt Brush, Fluffy Soft Roller Cleaner Head, Direct Drive Cleaner Head, Soft Dusting Brush, Electric Wand Set, Combination Accessory Tool, Mini Motorized Tool, and Crevice Tool.

So, both units come with two floor cleaner heads: one multi-floor cleaner head and one cleaner head optimized for bare floors, including sensitive wooden and laminate floors.

Also, Dyson V8 Absolute can be purchased with additional cleaning tools set containing tools that Tineco doesn't even offer - such cleaning tools set increase the price, but what you pay is what you get.

Price comparison? Well, their price often varies from shop to shop. Also, occasionally they may be offered at the promo prices and/or with extra cleaning tools.

Tineco A11 Master vs Dyson V10 Absolute - personally, Dyson V10 Absolute is in its own class regarding price and performances, not only when being compared with Tineco cordless units, but in general. For short, Dyson V10 Absolute is pricey, but excellent unit.

Before deciding which one to buy, check their current prices
